Give your furniture a new look with Mineral Paint

Want to give your table, cabinet or other furniture a tough concrete look? With our Mineral Paint you can easily transform furniture. The paint is suitable for various substrates such as MDF, painted surfaces, plastic, steel and even concrete stucco.

With the right preparation, you will ensure strong and lasting results. Below we explain step by step how to do this.

Step 1: Preparation of the substrate

Before you start painting, it is important to prepare the surface properly.

Lightly sand the substrate as needed. This is particularly important with:

- Painted substrates (e.g. lacquer paint on window frames or furniture)

- Concrete stucco substrates with a coating

By lightly sanding the existing coat, the primer can adhere better and you get a stronger end result.

Then make sure the surface is clean and dust-free.

Our Mineral Paint Can be applied to various substrates, such as:

- Untreated wood (e.g., MDF)

- Painted substrates

- Plastic

- Steel

- Concrete stucco

For all of these substrates, always use our Mineral Grip Primer for the best adhesion.

Step 2: Applying primer

Apply 1 coat Mineral Grip Primer on with a microfiber roller.
This primer ensures that the Mineral Paint adheres well to the substrate.

Drying time: approximately 3 hours.

Let the primer dry thoroughly before continuing.

Step 3: Mineral Paint apply

Then apply 2 to 3 coats Mineral Paint Apply with a block brush in crisscrossing motions (X-movements). This creates a beautiful and vibrant concrete look effect.

Drying time: Approximately 7 hours per layer.

Tip for furniture

For furniture such as tables or kitchen countertops, we recommend lightly sanding the surface with 220/240-grit paper after the last coat of paint has dried.

Our Mineral Paint namely has a subtle grain structure. By lightly sanding it, you get a smoother effect, which is more pleasant for surfaces that are used intensively.

On furniture such as cabinets, you can actually leave the texture in for a tougher look.

Step 4: Protect with a coating

To properly protect the furniture, apply a coating last.

Intensively used surfaces

For tables, kitchen countertops or other surfaces that are subject to frequent use, we recommend:

2K Coating
Apply in 2 coats with a roller. This coating is matte and extra strong.

Drying time: At least 2 hours before applying the second coat

Apply second coat within 12 hours

The coating is fully cured after 7 days.

Lighter protection

For furniture that is used less intensively, you can choose:

1K Coating
Apply with a block brush. This coating has a slight sheen.

Drying time:
Allow the coating to dry for at least 4 - 5 hours.
The coating is fully cured after 7 days.
